Hands Off News began in early 2025 as a platform to support and amplify the growing Hands Off movement—an effort driven by concern that the Trump presidency was drifting toward unchecked, centralized power.
When the movement’s central legislative fight ended with the passage of what many supporters viewed as the “Big Ugly Bill,” momentum collapsed. The campaign lost its immediate purpose, the protests faded, and Hands Off News went offline.
We are relaunching Hands Off News now because the story is not over. With midterm elections approaching and public engagement once again rising, we believe there is an opportunity to rebuild—not just a movement, but a more durable space for information, civic participation, and accountability.
