Cities

Cities overview

The Cities section of Hands-Off News highlights local organizations and community efforts working to bring people together through peaceful civic action—protests, marches, public forums, and organizing aimed at strengthening democracy and problem-solving at the local level.

This section is not about disruption for its own sake. It is about visibility, coordination, and accountability—giving attention to citizens who are exercising their democratic rights to influence how their communities and their country are governed.

History shows that strong leadership can move societies forward, but in a democracy, authority is never imposed from above. It is granted by the people, limited by the people, and accountable to the people. The Cities section exists to remind us that real power in a democracy flows upward—from communities to government—not the other way around.

Hands-Off News believes lasting change begins locally, where citizens still have the greatest ability to engage, organize, and work together to solve shared problems.
